Olá China! :) 

Pequim é a capital da China, fica localizada no norte do país e é das cidades mais populosas do mundo.

Apesar de existirem algumas atracções turísticas da cidade, não pude deixar fugir a oportunidade de visitar uma das 7 maravilhas do mundo: a cerca de 1h30 de distância do centro de Pequim podemos visitar a Grande Muralha da China! :)

Sobre a Grande Muralha da China: 

A muralha da China foi construída em várias etapas por 400000 pessoas. A sua construção parou definitivamente no século XVII durante o predomínio da dinastia Ming. O principal motivo para a sua construção foi o desejo de defender-se dos ataques dos povos do norte.

Apesar de ser início da Primavera na China, o dia estava muito cinzento tanto na cidade como na Grande Muralha. Na Muralha a temperatura é mais baixa do que na cidade, por isso é sempre aconselhável levar um casaco. No Inverno, luvas e gorro é obrigatório :).
Mas, no caso de faltar um agasalho, à entrada da Grande Muralha existem as habituais barraquinhas com souvenirs, onde regatear é lei. :)

O custo da entrada na Grande Muralha da China é de 180 yuans (cerca de 24€) e inclui um shuttle da bilheteira à entrada da Muralha, a subida à Muralha feita no teleférico e a descida feita num slide.

Uma vez na Muralha, é altura de subi-la ao nosso ritmo e apreciar a vista :)

A subida substitui a ida ao ginásio desse dia :) As escadas são irregulares e muito íngremes.

A melhor hora para visitar a Muralha é de manhã bem cedo, uma vez que são poucos os turistas que se passeiam nela por essa hora. :)

Hora de descer a Muralha e regressar à cidade, decidi ir ao mercado Silk.

O Silk market é um centro comercial com tudo o que possamos imaginar. Tem vários andares, divididos por categorias e é basicamente famoso por ser possível comprar imitações muito bem feitas de produtos de marcas, a pagar 1/4 do preço original - ou menos, se a arte de regatear for muito boa :).

O processo é muito engraçado:

Entra-se nas pequenas lojas e temos imediatamente uma assistente pronta a ajudar-nos.

Basta-nos descrever o que queremos e elas encontram. Se não tiverem na loja, ligam a alguém que lhes traz o que pedimos em 2 minutos. 

Fecham as cortinas e é hora de negociar preços.

O preço inicial é sempre altíssimo (1800 ¥ por exemplo) e depois é basicamente um jogo do cão e do gato. Por vezes o ideal é simular que desistimos da compra e o preço baixa drasticamente.

No fim, o que nos custaria 200€ na loja original e ali custaria inicialmente 150€, fica-nos por 30€ e toda a gente fica feliz :)

É um negócio muito sério e ficam muito ofendidos se depois de negociar o preço, não levamos o produto.

Depois de feitas as compras, foi hora de apanhar um táxi de regresso ao hotel.

Infelizmente é muito difícil encontrar um taxista que fale inglês, o que dificulta o simples apanhar de um táxi. Os táxis não param para ocidentais porque não conseguem comunicar com eles.

A procura levou cerca de 1h e permitiu-me ver um pouco do centro da cidade, caótico à hora de ponta.

Beijing is the capital of China, it is located in the north of the country and it is one of the most populous cities in the world.

Although there are some tourist attractions in the city, I could not miss the opportunity to visit one of the 7 wonders of the world: about 1h30 away from the center of Beijing we can visit the Great Wall of China! :)

About the Great Wall of China:

The wall of China was built in several stages by 400000 people. Its construction stopped definitively in century XVII during the predominance of the Ming dynasty. The main reason for its construction was the desire to defend itself against the attacks of the peoples of the north.

Although it was early spring in China, the day was very grey in the city and in the Great Wall. At the Wall the temperature is lower than in the city, so it is always advisable to bring a jacket. In winter, gloves and cap are required :).

In case you forget your jacket, at the entrance to the Great Wall there are the usual stalls with souvenirs, where bargaining is mandatory. :)

The cost of entry to the Great Wall of China is 180 yuan (about 24 €) and includes the shuttle bus from the ticket service at the entrance to the Wall, the climb to the Wall made on the cable car and the descent made on a slide.

Once on the Wall, it's time to climb it at our pace and enjoy the view :)

The climb will be your gym that day :) The stairs are uneven and very steep.

The best time to visit the Wall is very early in the morning, when there's not much people there.

Time to go down to the Wall and return to the city, I decided to go to the Silk market.

Silk market is a shopping center with everything we can imagine. It has several floors, divided by categories and it is basically famous because we can buy good fake branded stuff, paying 1/4 of the original price - or less, if your bargaining art is very good :).

The process is very funny:

We enter the small shops and we immediately have an assistant ready to help us.

It is enough for us to describe what we want. They will find it for us. If they do not have it in the store, they will call someone who brings what you ordered in 2 minutes.

Then, they close the curtains and it's time to negotiate prices.

The initial price is always high (1800 ¥ for example) and then it is basically a game. Sometimes the ideal is to simulate that we are giving up and walking away and the price drops drastically.

In the end, what would cost us 200 € in the original store and, at that store, would initially cost € 150, we buy for € 30 and everyone is happy :)

It is a very serious business and they are very offended if after negotiating the price, we do not take the product.

After the shopping, it was time to take a taxi back to the hotel.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to find a taxi driver who speaks English, which makes it difficult to get a taxi. Taxis do not stop for westerners because they can not communicate with them.

The search took about 1h and allowed me to see a bit of downtown, chaotic at rush hour.
