Kuala Lumpur (Malásia / Malaysia)

Olá Malásia! :)

Esta foi a minha primeira vez na capital da Malásia, Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lampur tem uma grande diversidade cultural, havendo malaios-chineses e malaios-indianos, entre outras pequenas etnias. Os chineses foram para Kuala Lumpur durante a Revolução Industrial e os indianos foram levados pelos britânicos, quando a Malásia era colónia do Reino Unido.

Por isso é tão comum conhecer-se um malaio que podíamos jurar ser chinês ou indiano.. ele é malaio mesmo na verdade, apenas com um background diferente. :)

A temperatura ronda entre os 22 e os 33 graus todo o ano, sendo um clima húmido. 

Em Kuala Lumpur há dois locais a não perder: as grutas Batu e as Torres Petronas, o 6º arranha-céu mais alto do mundo.

As grutas Batu têm este nome devido ao rio que cai ali mesmo daquela montanha, o rio Batu. O rio dá também nome à localidade ali vizinha. 

São um complexo de grutas a 100 metros acima do chão.

À entrada da escadaria de acesso às grutas, existe a maior estátua de Murugan, um deus hindu. Depois, para ter acesso às grutas, temos que subir 272 degraus e devemos estar cobertos. Em caso de o vestuário não ser considerado adequado, existem panos que podem ser comprados junto à escadaria.

E, como se 272 degraus não fossem obra suficiente, existem inúmeros macacos pelo caminho a roubar comida e outros pertences aos turistas que ali passam. :)

Na base da escadaria existe um templo hindu. Podemos ver os crentes a entrar descalços e, no fim da sua oração, recebem uma refeição.

Nas redondezas existem várias bancas onde podemos comprar frutas, especiarias e souvenirs e há outros pequenos templos que podem ser visitados. 

Depois decidimos ver as Torres Petronas, que ficam a cerca de 15 minutos de carro de Batu.

Dica: O Uber é a opção mais barata em Kuala Lumpur no que diz respeito a deslocações. O táxi é ligeiramente mais caro e assim que os taxistas se apercebem que somos turistas, fazem preço fixo e não querem usar o taxímetro.

As Petronas Twin Towers foram construídas em 1998, têm 88 andares e são o 6º edifício mais alto do mundo. Têm características de arte islâmica - reflexo da herança muçulmana malaia.

Kuala Lumpur é mesmo uma mistura entre várias culturas, sendo tão comum ver indianas a praticar o hinduismo como muçulmanas cobertas totalmente ou um taxista que se assemelha com um chinês. :)

This was my first time in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lampur has a great cultural diversity. There are Malaysian-Chinese and Malaysian-Indians, among other small ethnic groups. The Chinese went to Kuala Lumpur during the Industrial Revolution and the Indians were taken there by the British, when Malaysia was a colony of the United Kingdom.

So that's why it is so common to meet a Malaysian that we could swear to be Chinese or Indian .. he is Malay, with only a different background. :)

The temperature ranges between 22 and 33 degrees throughout the year, being a humid climate.

In Kuala Lumpur there are two places not to be missed: the Batu Caves and the Petronas Towers, the world's 6th tallest skyscraper.

The Batu caves are named after the river that falls right there on that mountain, the Batu River. The river also gives name to the locality next door.

They are a complex of caves 100 meters above the ground.

At the entrance to the caves access staircase, there is the largest statue of Murugan, a Hindu god. Then, to get access to the caves, we have to climb 272 steps and we must be covered. In case clothing is not considered suitable, there are cloths that can be bought next to the staircase.

And as if 272 steps were not enough work, there are innumerable monkeys on the way stealing food and other belongings to tourists passing by. :)

At the base of the staircase there is a Hindu temple. We can see the believers going barefoot and, at the end of their prayer, receiving a meal.

In the vicinity there are several stalls where we can buy fruits, spices and souvenirs and there are other small temples that can be visited.

Then we decided to see the Petronas Towers, which are about 15 minutes drive from Batu.

Tip: Uber is the cheapest option in Kuala Lumpur when it comes to travel. The taxi is slightly more expensive and as soon as the taxi drivers realize that we are tourists, they make a fixed price and do not want to use the meter.

The Petronas Twin Towers were built in 1998, have 88 floors and are the 6th tallest building in the world. They have characteristics of Islamic art - a reflection of the Malayan Muslim heritage.

Kuala Lumpur is really a cross between cultures, it is as common to see Indians practicing Hinduism as Muslims totally covered or a taxi driver who we can sweat, he is Chinese. :)
