Mais um destino para marcar como feito da minha lista de países a visitar. :)

A Grécia fica localizada no sul da Europa e as temperaturas em Atenas, a sua capital, rondavam entre os 35 e os 40 graus neste dia de Setembro.

Atenas, é especialmente conhecida pelos famosos templos construídos em honra aos deuses gregos

É na Acrópole de Atenas, zona mais alta da cidade, que se situam estes templos.

Hoje em dia só estão de pé alguns deles - Propileu, Partenon, Erecteu e o Templo de Atena Nice e estão muito incompletos e danificados.

É necessário subir a colina para ver estes templos e pagar o preço de 20€ para os visitar.

Acrópole de Atenas (vista do 360º Cocktail Bar)

Como fica situada acima do nível da cidade, é possível ter uma vista completa de 360 graus da cidade.

Depois de vista a zona da Acrópole, decidimos experimentar a gastronomia local, da qual muito ouvimos falar.

Ouvi falar muito da moussaka. Quando perguntei ao empregado do restaurante (que falava orgulhosamente muitas línguas e me disse um rasgado "bom dia" quando lhe disse ser de Portugal), explicou-me que era "uma espécie de lasanha". Arrisquei e não me arrependi!

Apesar do aspecto não ser o melhor, a moussaka é basicamente a lasanha grega que, para além de carne moída, tem também beringela e um toque a canela que dá um gosto muito especial.

Seguimos depois para a Praça Monastiraki, uma praça muito central com algum comércio e onde se localiza o 360º Cocktail Bar, um bar com vista panorâmica da cidade.

Pelo caminho, deixámo-nos perder.. :)

Das coisas que reparei:

Atenas é claramente uma cidade muito marcada pelo turismo e os atenienses são um povo muito dado. São também muito práticos: se um taxista quer colocar a garrafa de água na bagageira do carro enquanto está no meio do trânsito, ele o fará sem problemas nenhuns, acreditem! E ainda deixa o carro a funcionar com as chaves na ignição, confiando em quem deixa dentro :)

Another destination to mark as done from my bucket list. :)

Greece is located in southern Europe and the temperatures in Athens, its capital, goes from 35 to 40 degrees this September.

Athens is especially known for the famous temples built in honor of the Greek gods.

It is in the Acropolis of Athens, the highest part of the city, that these temples are located.

Nowadays only a few of them are still there - Propileus, Parthenon, Erechtheum and the Temple of Atena but they are very incomplete and damaged.

It is necessary to go up the hill to see these temples and pay the price of 20 € to visit them.

As it is situated above city level, it is possible to have a full 360 degree view of the city.

After seeing the Acropolis area, we decided to try the local gastronomy, which we heard a lot about.

I've heard a lot about moussaka. When I asked the restaurant employee (who spoke many languages and proudly told me a big "good morning" in portuguese when I told him I was from Portugal), he explained that it was "a kind of lasagna." I tried it and I did not regret it!

Although the look is not the best, the moussaka is basically the Greek lasagna which, in addition to ground meat, also has eggplant and a touch of cinnamon that gives a very special taste.

Then we continue to Monastiraki Square, a very central square with some commerce and where is located the 360º Cocktail Bar, a bar with panoramic view of the city.

Things I noticed:

Athens is clearly a city marked by tourism and the Athenians are very friendly. They are also very practical: if a taxi driver wants to put the water bottle in the trunk of the car while in the middle of the traffic, he will do it without any problems, believe me! And still let the car run with the keys in the ignition, relying on whoever lets in :)
